this is my crazy friend i could ring her up and tell her im planning a trip to the moon and she would turn up on my doorstop dressed in an appropriate space suit with a rucksack crammed full of crackers, she never questions me and accompanies without fail on some of the most wackiest spontaneous unplanned expeditions ever and i love her for it.

The steepest part of the path goes through a long trench filled with snow, fenced on either side by very rough lava. I'm guessing this was a river of lava during one of the eruptions.
